The Hot Tub Club guide

Find your kind of hot tub.

Choose the format that fits your space and plans. Then compare individual models using written specifications.

Type A reason to consider it What to check
Inflatable or portable spa You want to explore a movable spa setup. Operating temperature limits, permitted outdoor use, seating, care requirements, replacement parts and storage.
Compact hard-shell spa You have a smaller household or a tighter footprint. Real seating space, footwell, delivery access, cover clearance and equipment access.
Family hard-shell spa You want a mix of seats for regular use at home. Comfort at each seat, usable capacity, the required supply, insulation evidence and aftercare.
Swim spa You want to explore swimming or exercise at home alongside spa seating. Try the current yourself if possible. Confirm depth, swim area, delivery plan, structural support and electrical requirements.

13 amp or 32 amp is not an efficiency rating

These describe electrical supply requirements or configurations, not a complete measure of quality. Whether heating and pumps operate together depends on the model. Compare the manual and independently supported energy data; do not infer running costs from amperage.

Build a shortlist you can check

  1. List your available space, preferred seats and overall project budget.
  2. Ask each retailer for the exact specification and installation manual.
  3. Compare written delivery and service arrangements as well as the purchase price.
  4. Try the seats and controls where a demonstration is available.
